Inside Investigation at 438 East Queen St

A snowy afternoon sent CFD personnel out the door to 438 East Queen Street for an inside investigation. While en route, dispatch advised that there was a strong odor of sulfur in the residence. Wilson Students Donate Stuffed Animals

Vehicle Tips on Guide Wire

A unique situation called out CFD Company One units to the intersection of Prince Street and Montgomery Court for an auto accident with a vehicle on its side. Arriving units found a single vehicle that drove up a utility pole guide wire at low speeds causing the vehicle to tip on its side. Just after 7:00 a.m., crews were alerted for a possible gas leak inside the residence at 307 South Main Street. Company 1 arrived to find high levels of carbon monoxide and a gas odor present. Dumpster Fire at 27 N. Main Street

Ambulance 1-8's crew, while performing fire code inspections, came across a dumpster fire to the rear of 27 North Main Street. Crew members placed themselves on scene and requested assistance from Engine 1-2. Workers first started to burn some boxes to the rear of the building which produced a lot of smoke; therefore, they discarded the boxes in the dumpster. The fire was extinguished. The worker was advised of the Borough of Chambersburg's no open burning policy for future reference.  Read More
