Company 1 units and mutual aid were sent to 1480 Nitterhouse Dr. for a reported building fire shortly before 1 PM. Communications advised enroute of a call from the establishment reporting a fire on the building along the railroad track. Chief 1 and Asst. Chief 1 arrived, staging all incoming units and proceeding around the access road. Chief 1 arrived finding a fire at a loading dock, against a rail car. Engine 1-2 and Engine 1-1 proceeded back the road, establishing a water supply from a yard hydrant. Crews were able to quickly extinguish all fire on the exterior and begin to investigate for any extension. Crews from Engine 1-1 made access into the building and found smoke in the loading area with no fire extension into the building. Tower 1 relocated to Side A to set up positive pressure ventilation for the large building, along with Squad 41 and Truck 42. Crews operated for an hour and 40 minutes clearing smoke and wetting the area down.
