Busy day for B Shift
B Shift members were kept busy on Saturday with multiple runs through the shift. Crews handled multiple fire responses including 10 EMS calls through the shift.
Shortly after shift change, units were sent to the 300 block of Bedington Blvd for a fire alarm. Units arrived and investigated, finding an accidental activation. Crews were on scene for a short time before clearing.
Around 1130 crews were out the door again to the 900 block of Pennwood Ct for a fire alarm. Crews found an accidental activation for the alarm and cleared after crews confirmed the alarm was reset.
Engine 1-1 and Engine 1-2 were sent around 1523 hrs to the 900 block of Norland Ave for a vehicle fire. Engine 1-1 arrived and after investigating found the rear defroster of the vehicle had overheated.
As the evening started CFD crews were sent to the 200 block of Miller St for an odor of smoke in a building. Engine 1-1 laid out positioning on Side A and began to investigate. Initial reports inside were a haze in the building with an odor of electrical burning. Crews investigated and found an overheated water heater motor. Crews secured the power and ventilated before clearing the scene.
Just before 0700 hrs crews were out the door unit block of West Washington St for a fire alarm. Crews investigated and found the cause to be accidental. Crews operated for a short time before clearing.
