CFD handles propane Leak

Shortly before noon Engine 1-2 was sent to the 800 block of Cleveland Ave for a report of smoke in the area. Engine 1-2 arrived, finding a 100 lbs propane tank leaking for an attached hose. Engine 1-1 and Ambulance 1-7 were requested to assist. Crews placed hoselines in place for safety while requesting CPD to the scene to assist with notification to the community. A shelter-in-place was given to residences on Cleveland Ave in the close proximity of the scene while crews worked to mitigate the leak. Crews were able to secure the leak and crews turned it over to maintenance staff. Crews were on scene for an 1 hr. and 45 minutes until released by Command 1 (Chief Ulrich).
