Captain Pryor Recognized

Captain Randall Pryor was presented a certificate of appreciation recently from Shippensburg Fire Chief Randy O'Donnell. Captain Pryor came upon a pedestrian accident on Sept. 27th, 2022, while off duty. Captain Pryor and several others jumped into action and assisted in lifting a vehicle off the pedestrian to prevent any further injury.

At the December 20, 2022, Shippensburg Borough Council Meeting, members of the community were recognized for their quick action that saved the life of a fellow citizen.

On September 27, 2022 at approximately 5:00 PM, Shippensburg Emergency Services was dispatched to the 400 block of East King Street for a reported pedestrian accident. Additional updated information reported that the individual was trapped under a vehicle. Neighbors and other motorists stopped and lifted the vehicle off of the individual before emergency services arrived. This action freed the victim providing First Responders quick access to provide medical care. The patient was transported to a local trauma center for care and is recovering for his injuries. Their actions help save the life of the trapped individual, and on behalf of Shippensburg Emergency Services we are grateful for their actions.
