CFD units and mutual aid were alerted just before 1500 hrs to 382 Lincoln Way East for a reported smoke from a house. While units were still being dispatched Chief 1 arrived, find a small fire on a back porch. Engine 1-1 arrived and crews deployed a crosslay to begin extinguishing the small fire. Command 1 staged all incoming units as crews investigated. All fire was contained to the exterior bilco doors to the apartment building and no extension into the building itself. CFD crews operated for a little over 30 minutes until placed in service by Command 1 (Chief Ulrich).
