Smoke Odor and Appliance Fire

At 1024 hrs. CFD units and mutual aid were sent to the 900 block of Norland Ave for a report of smoke in a commercial building. Chief 1 arrived with normal conditions from the exterior. Initial crews found an odor but no smoke inside. Crews located an overheated electric motor in an appliance and quickly scaled units back to Chambersburg only. Crews confirmed no other issues and went available.

Just before 1700 hrs, CFD units and mutual aid were alerted to the 400 block of East Queen St. for an appliance fire. Enroute Communications advised that the fire was reported to be out now. Asst. Chief 1 arrived with normal conditions. Crews located an oven fire that was extinguished prior to arrival. Crews confirmed no extension and secured the oven before going in service.
