As high winds and snow squalls overtook the Chambersburg area, a call for a house
fire at 743 Fairground Avenue sent CFD units out the door at 7:06 p.m. Engine 1-4 was first to arrive to find a fire on the back side of the house in the
area of the bilco doors. The fire was quickly extinguished, and Chief 1 held the box to CFD units. Crews remained on scene for around 30 minutes opening up the area involved.
Around one hour later, CFD units were sent back out the door for another reported house fire at 237 West Queen Street in the Borough. Engine 1-1 arrived to find a
furnace malfunction. Deputy Chief 1 placed the box in service once crews secured the unit.
