Engine 1-1 was dispatched to the 1000 block of Lincoln Way East for a vehicle fire to start their shift out. Enroute Communications advised of fire from a pick up truck. Chief 1 arrived during dispatch and advised fire appeared to be out. Engine 1-1 arrived and deployed the bumper line as precaution. Crews contained fluids from the vehicle and secured the vehicle until CPD arrived. An Engine from Franklin Fire Co (Station 4) and Ambulance from Pleasant Hall Fire Co (Co. 11) were also dispatched but both were placed in service prior to responding.
C Shift began their shift out quite busy, having 6 EMS calls, the vehicle fire and a fire alarm within the first 2 hours of the shift. Crews went on to have an additional 14 EMS calls and a vehicle accident through the rest of their shift.
