Multiple units were alerted to the 100 block of Lincoln Way East for a reported Vehicle Accident, involving a school bus. While units were still being dispatched, Asst. Chief 1 and Chief 1 arrived to find the accident at the intersection of W. King St and Hood St. Crews found a full size school bus and a passenger car with initial reports that the bus was empty. Ambulance 1-8 crew arrived and treated the operator of the passenger car. Engine 1-2 and tower 1 arrived and controlled the scene and cleared debris. While on scene it was discovered the bus had students on at the time of the accident but another bus arrived and transported the kids to school before the FD was alerted. Tower 1 responded to the local school with multiple EMS units to evaluate the students. Three students were transported from the school due to injuries from the accident. Chambersburg units operated for about an hour between the crash scene and the school until Command 1 (Asst. Chief Myers) placed units in service.
