Engine 1-1 made the trip to Harrisburg Community College today for FF/EMT Matt Birgfeld to complete his CDL test today. CFD ensures that all members operating fire equipment are trained to the best ability, including CDL and Nationally recognized Driver Operator courses in each piece of equipment. This is on top of our standard drivers training where they become confident in the operation of them.
While there Asst. Chief Myers checked in on the 6 new Firefighters as they started into some of their practical work for the Fire Academy. The cadets were working on multiple different non-structure related fires (Dumpsters, Autos, Gas Meters) while also working on foam operations. The cadets are excited to be working on their practical evolutions and anticipating them to be intensifying as the academy continues.
