Reported Explosion

Company 1 units and mutual aid were alerted to the 600 block of Hollywell Ave for a reported explosion. Enroute, Communications advised of a reported explosion in the basement and were unsure what happened. Engine 1-2 and Asst Chief 1 arrived on scene with normal conditions from the residence and appeared to be evacuated. Initial reports were a water line burst and crews entered the basement to confirm. Incoming units were staged for a short time before Command held Engine 1-2, Tower 1 and Ambulance 1-8. Crews confirmed a valve for a hot water line burst, securing the water to the residence. Units operated for about 20 minutes before clearing the scene.
