Pennsylvania Yellow Dot Program
The Chambersburg Fire Department is actively participating in the Yellow Dot Program that was developed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
Each year the Department responds to over 5,000 emergency calls and in some cases information on the patient is extremely difficult to obtain due to their
medical condition. Any time information is able to be gained in this time of need is a true help to our first responders. This program was created to assist citizens in the “golden hour” of emergency care following a traffic accident when they may not be able to communicate their needs themselves. Placing a yellow dot in your vehicle’s rear window alerts first responders to check your glove compartment for vital information to ensure you receive the medical attention you need. The program is a cooperative effort among the Pennsylvania Departments of Transportation, Health and Aging, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, First Responders and local law enforcement. The information packet can be received by contacting Captain Jackie Umberger at jumberger@chambersburgpa.gov or by going to the following link: https://expressforms.pa.gov/apps/pa/penndot/yellow-dot-participation Please click for instructions once the packet is received. |
