Odor of gas in a residence
CFD engines and Truck 42(Franklin Fire) were sent to the 300 block of Wayne Ave for an odor of gas inside. While en route, Communications advised of an odor of oil in the home. Engine 1-2 arrived with normal conditions and began to investigate. Asst. Chief 1 arrived and established Command 1, while Engine 1-1 arrived and stretched a crosslay to the door. Crew investigated all floors with no readings throughout. Truck 42 arrived and positioned the front of the home if any ventilation was needed and was placed in service a short time after arriving. After crews investigated they believed the odor came from the home's fuel oil that had been filled earlier in the day, a small amount that had dripped from the bleeder valve. No services were needed and Company 1 units cleared.
