Chambersburg Fire Dept and mutual aid units were alerted to the 300 block of Tolbert Ave for a reported House Fire. Shortly after dispatch Engine 1-4 arrived on scene with a 2 story duplex with smoke showing. Engine 1-1 arrived and their crew advanced a line to begin fire attack. Crews were quickly able to extinguish the fire in a second floor bedroom and began opening up. Tower 1 laddered the building and assisted Engine 1-1 with checking for extension. Due to the extreme temperatures, several additional units were requested to assist with overhaul. The remaining units cleared after working on scene for about 3 hours until clear by Command 1 (Asst. Chief Myers).
3 of the occupants suffered burns and injuries during this fire and were transported to different hospitals for care.
