Company 1 units were sent around 1414 hrs for a vehicle accident with reported entrapment at the 1600 block of Orchard Dr. While units were responding, Franklin County 911 reported CPD on scene confirmed one person trapped. Engine 1-2 arrived on scene with one vehicle down an embankment with major damage to the driver side. Engine 1-2 advanced a crosslay for fire protection. Tower 1 arrived on scene, with its crew beginning to stabilize the vehicle. Engine 1-1 arrived, providing blocking to the scene with Capt. 1-4 assigned as the Rescue Group supervisor. Asst. Chief 1 arrived and assumed Command. Crews operated the hydraulic tools off Tower 1 to remove both doors and the B post to access the patient. Patient was secured and removed from the vehicle and given to the crew of Ambulance 1-8 and Medic 101. Engine 1-1 was repositioned just East of the scene and set up a landing zone on Orchard Dr for Life Lion 3. Crews operated for little over an hour assisting in various tasks on scene. The Norfolk Southern rail line was shut down for a short period of time due to the proximity of the accident. Tower 1 cleared and responded to another vehicle accident at the intersection of Second St and Queen St while units wrapped up on Orchard Dr.
