MVA with entrapment

At 12:30 pm., the Chambersburg Fire Department was alerted to 386 East Queen Street, for a reported auto accident with entrapment. The 911 dispatch center advised that two vehicles were involved with one person possibly trapped. Chambersburg Ambulance 1-8 arrived two minutes after dispatch to find a two vehicle accident in front of 391 East Queen Street. It was determined that the driver of one of the vehicles was confined to the vehicle.

Fire department members quickly started working on removing the patient by removing the doors on the driver’s side. After around ten minutes, the patient was removed from the vehicle.

Due to the nature of the crash, the driver was flown to a trauma center by WellFlight 2-8. The helicopter landed at the Chambersburg Hospital.

An additional patient was evaluated, but refused transport by an Ambulance. Chambersburg gas department assisted on the scene due to a struck meter. Crews cleared the scene at 1:26 PM.
