Chambersburg units and mutual aid were sent to the intersection of Alexander Ave and Hudson Ave for reports of smoke coming from a home. Shortly after dispatch, Asst. Chief 1 arrived confirming smoke from the roof line of a home. Engine 1-4 arrived and deployed a hoseline to the garage area and secured their own water supply. Tower 1 made access points into the garage where crews encountered fire in part of the garage, as well as throw ladders. Engine 1-2 arrived and their crew deployed a backup line to assist Engine 1-4. Crews from Engine 1-4 and Squad 41 (Franklin Fire Co.) conducted a primary search as the fire was being brought under control. Engine 13-2 (Letterkenny) secured a secondary water supply and advanced a hoseline to the main part of the house to check for extension. Crews remained for about an hour conducting overhaul. The cause of the fire was determined to be from Lithium Ion batteries that were plugged in charging.
