Just as the afternoon was getting started, both CFD Engine's were sent to the intersection of Federal Street and Lincoln Way West for a reported vehicle fire. En route, communications advised of a tow truck carrying a vehicle that had caught fire and should be in the area. Asst. Chief 1 and Engine 1-1 arrived finding a passenger car off of the tow truck with fire in the engine compartment. Engine 1-1 quickly deployed the bumper line and began extinguishing the fire. Engine 1-2 arrived and the crew assisted. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and was in service after operating for about 30 minutes.
