Battery Fire in a Hotel

| CFD units and mutual aid were sent to the 1000 block of Wayne Ave for reported smoke inside a hotel. Crews investigated and found a cell phone battery that had caught fire and ignited some carpet. The fire was out upon arrival, but produced smoke within the hotel. Crews checked for extension and ventilated the building. Crews remained on scene for a short time until placed in service by Command 1 (Chief Ulrich). |
