Company 1 units and Franklin County EMA responded to 1440 Sheffler Dr this afternoon for a potential Haz-Mat incident. Information enroute stated a lead acid battery with a possible leak. First arriving units found two large batteries had overheated and emitting a sulfur smell. The batteries were on the exterior of the building and no patients from the business. Chambersburg units assist County EMA with containment so the facility could arrange proper disposal. Command 1 (Chief Ulrich) placed units in service after being on scene for 30 minutes. |
