Sixth St. House Fire
Just before 1 A.M., CFD units and mutual aid were alerted to the 200 block of South Sixth St. for a reported house fire. En route, Communications advised of a passerby reporting smoke from the home with smoke alarms sounding. Shortly after, Engine 1-4 arrived on scene reporting smoke showing from the residence. Engine 1-1 crew arrived and stretched a crosslay, advancing to the second floor. Crews located a fire that was burning between the floor, extending up into the second floor. Tower 1 arrived and laddered the building, then went to the roof for ventilation. Crews were able to bring the fire under control in about 20 minutes and on scene crews began an extensive overhaul. Units operated for 2 1/2 hours before Command 1 (Chief 1) cleared all units.
