Company 1 units and mutual aid were alerted for a sign on fire in the 900 block of Wayne Ave. Communications advised units that the business sign was on fire. Asst. Chief 1 and Ambulance 1-7 arrived finding smoke from the sign with no visible flames. Company 1 units secured the power to the sign and placed a ladder to check the source of the fire. It was found to be a large bird's nest in the sign that caught fire with no fire making it into the building itself. Company 1 operated for 30 minutes before being placed in service by Command 1 (Asst. Chief Myers).
