A fire at P. Niklaus Brother’s Co. started in a frame addition to the masonry main building. The 2 story addition housed the boiler, engine, and dynamo, along with storage on the second floor of excelsior, moss fiber, and other packing materials. The fire department did a great job of saving the original portion of the building, and the origin was stated to be in the boiler or stack.
