Vehicle accident with entrapment and fire closes South Second St.

CFD units were alerted to the intersection of East Catherine Street and South Second Street for a vehicle accident with entrapment and fire. While units were enroute, Communications advised of multiple vehicles, with one person trapped with fire. Engine 1-2 arrived, confirming dispatch, and started working to extinguish the fire. HQ units arrived and began to work on stabilizing the vehicle and starting extrication. Crews were able to quickly remove the occupant from the vehicle for EMS units to treat them. CFD units remained on scene for about 45 minutes, assisting Chambersburg Police with their investigation. Engine 1-1 cleared the scene to handle a landing zone for Well Flight 2-8.
