Today, members of the Chambersburg Fire Department spent the day at the York County Fire School completing Day 1 of our Annual Burn Days.
Crews trained in realistic live-fire scenarios, including simulated basement fires and standpipe operations with fire conditions on the third floor. These evolutions provided valuable experience with skills that are not used every day but are critical to perform effectively when the situation demands.
Members also had the opportunity to work through multiple real-fire scenarios while utilizing our newest Seek Thermal Imaging Cameras, enhancing their ability to locate heat, improve situational awareness, and support fireground decision-making.
We sincerely appreciate the York County Fire School for the use of their outstanding training facility and look forward to returning next week with additional members for another day of live-fire training.
