Chambersburg Fire Department units, along with mutual aid companies, responded to the 500 block of Poplar Avenue for a reported house fire.
Engine 1-1 arrived on scene within minutes and located a fire on the rear porch that was largely extinguished upon arrival. Crews conducted a thorough check for fire extension into the residence and confirmed that the fire had not spread beyond the porch.
Firefighters secured electrical power to the affected porch area, completed overhaul operations, and ensured there were no remaining hot spots requiring additional cooling.
Chambersburg Fire Department units operated on scene for approximately 30 minutes before returning to service.
