Chambersburg Fire units and mutual aid were sent to the 600 block of Wayne Ave for a reported building fire. Initial calls from the business stated their fryers were on fire. During dispatch, Engine 1-1 and Engine 1-2 arrived on scene with smoke from a vent. Crews advanced a hoseline to the kitchen entrance, confirming a fire in the fryers. Crews utilized two dry chemical fire extinguishers to assist with extinguishing the fire, as Tower 1 checked the vents for any extension. The assignment was held to Company 1, as units continued to check for extension and ensure no flare-ups. Company 1 units continued to operate for an hour and a half before being placed in service by Command 1 (Asst. Chief Myers).
