CFD units assist on Mountain Fire

Shortly after 1500 hrs. Utility 1 and UTV 1 were alerted to the 1200 block of Knob Hill Road in Fayetteville, Company 7's first due. Initial Company 7 units arrived with a wind-driven fire, making its way up the mountain. Engine 1-1 was added to the assignment to assist with establishing a water supply. The Utility and UTV arrived and were sent to access the upper portion of the fire. Crews worked with additional fire departments and the PA Forestry on creating fire lines near the head of the fire. Engine 1-1 arrived on scene and was sent up Ridge Road to the water tower to establish a water supply for the units operating on the upper side. They remained in place for 4 1/2 hours before being placed in service by Command 7. The Utility and UTV remained on scene for over 5 hours before clearing the scene.
