The Boher Furniture Factory and Methodist Church in Shippensburg caught fire. Our companies went to help (CVRR again) but found that they could not connect to the fire hydrants due to different threads on the hose couplings. This was the failure that prompted the formation of the Cumberland Valley Volunteer Firemen’s Assn.
