Second Street vehicle fire quickly contained

Just after 1400 hrs. Chambersburg Fire units, along with mutual aid, were alerted to Shook Home on South Second Street, for a vehicle fire impinging on the building. As units were still being dispatched, Chief 1 arrived and found a vehicle well involved, not close to the building. Engine 1-1 arrived and advanced a hoseline and began extinguishing the fire. The assignment was quickly held to Company 1 only. Crews placed speedy dry to contain run-off from the vehicle. Chambersburg crews operated for an hour before clearing the scene.
