Chambersburg Fire units and mutual aid were sent to the 400 Block of East Queen Street at 1623 hrs for a reported electrical fire in a business. All CFD units arrived during dispatch to find normal conditions from the outside. Once inside, they located a water heater that had malfunctioned and caught fire, but was out on arrival. The assignment was quickly held to Company 1 only, and a request was made for the Health Inspector to the scene. Crews secured the power to the water heater and ensured no smoldering fire within the unit. Units operated for 30 minutes on scene before Command 1 (Asst. Chief Myers) placed remaining units in service.
