Crews handle kitchen fire on Byers Avenue

CFD units and mutual aid were sent to the 900 block of Byers Avenue for a reported house fire. While units were responding they were advised of a fire in the kitchen that was believed to be out. Engine 1-2 arrived with normal conditions from the outside and began to investigate. Initial crews reported a fire on the stove that was out with some extension to cabinets. Crews checked for any further extension and ventilated the home. Crews operated for about 20 minutes before Chief 1 cleared units.
