Day 4 of the Mini Academy was a day dedicated to Tower 1. The Tower carries a large amount of specialized equipment for firefighting and rescue situations. New members reviewed equipment locations, then started into the operations of some of that equipment. Reviewing skills taught in the HACC Fire Academy. they forced doors and went over operations of saws. Crews also spent time going over in detail the operations of our extrication equipment, working with air bags and our Hurst cutters and spreaders. The new members ended their day with operations of the Tower and working on setting up the aerial. Todays material was covered by Tower Operators Robert Barrett, Anthony Chen, and Zach Nehf, as well as Engine Operator Jamie Birgfeld.
