Land Rescue

Units were alerted to the 100 Block of Lincoln Way West for a Land Rescue at 12:33 p.m. While responding, communications advised a subject was stuck in the stream due to a medical emergency. Asst. Chief 1 arrived on location to find a patient down a 10' embankment, unable to assist themselves. Engine 1-1's crew made access down the bank with Capt. 1-3 (Martin) taking the rescue operations group. Tower 1's crew began clearing brush while setting up a haul system to lift the patient if needed. Crews were able to assist the subject up the bank to the ambulance that transported the patient to the local hospital. Patient was safely removed within ten minutes of the first unit arrival on scene.
