Company 1 units were alerted to 811 Wayne Avenue for an inside investigation at a commercial
business. While units were responding, communications advised of a report of smoke in the building discovered by the business owner. A/C 1(Myers) arrived and confirmed
the dispatch with initial reports of a possible fire in the kitchen. Engine 1-4 crew arrived placing an attack line in place. Crews reported a small fire in the corner
of the kitchen that appeared to have been larger at some point. Crews overhauled the fire room and confirmed no extension. It was determined that the fire had started
in the overnight hours with most extinguished by the kitchen hood suppression system. Crews operated on scene for almost 2 hours with assistance from the Borough Health
Dept. and Borough Building Code Official (PMCA).
