Engine 1-1 and Ambulance 1-9 were sent to the 400 block of Lincoln Way West for a Vehicle Accident into a building. Shortly after dispatch Chief 1 arrived finding a single vehicle that struck a pole with the single occupant confined. Tower 1 was requested to assist with extrication. Crews utilized cribbing and rescue struts to stabilize the vehicle before removing the passenger door. Patient was removed from the vehicle and placed in the care of Ambulance 1-9 and MICU 7-9. Engine 1-4 was alerted for a landing zone to meet WellFlight 2-8. Ambulance 1-9 arrived at the landing zone then ended up providing ground transportation to Meritus Medical Center.
