CFD crews assisted New Franklin Fire with a working basement fire in the 1600 block of Hawthorne Lane. Engine 1-1 arrived as the first due engine and the crew advanced a crosslay into the basement. Crews operated in the basement to bring the fire under control and open up the area to check for extension. Crews assisted on scene for just under 2 hours.
