CFD units and mutual aid were alerted to the 800 block of Woodlawn Dr. for a possible house fire. While units were responding, Franklin County 911 advised the caller had come home and found smoke in their residence, from an unknown source. Engine 1-2 arrived and laid a supply line from the hydrant, reporting normal conditions from the outside. Engine 1-1 arrived, with their crew advancing a hoseline off Engine 1-2, beginning to investigate, along with Tower 1. Asst. Chief 1 arrived and assumed Command 1. Crews located the course of smoke to the basement, where materials within the dryer had caught fire and were out before arrival. Command 1 held Company 1 units for ventilation. Crews operated for 30 minutes before clearing the scene.
