Units from Company 1 and mutual aid were alerted to the first block of Lincoln Way West for a report of smoke in an apartment building. Engine 1-1 and Tower 1 arrived and crews began to investigate the three story multi-unit building. Crews found a slight haze and it was discovered to be cigarette smoke that was seen and activated the fire alarm. No Fire Dept services were needed and units cleared.
