CFD units and mutual aid were sent to the 1000 block of South Coldbrook Avenue for a possible house fire. Franklin County Communications advised that while en route, of a possible basement fire with smoke from the front of the home. Engine 1-2 arrived and laid out to the scene. Chief 1 arrived and established Command while first arriving units investigated. Crews checked throughout the home, finding no conditions. Crews located smoke from several areas in front of the home, coming from the mulch. Crews discovered a mulch fire and began to wet the area down. Mutual aid units were placed in service, and crews dug through the mulch to ensure no hidden fire. Crews operated for about 30 minutes before clearing.
