Reported Fire at Manor Building

At 4:00 p.m., CFD and surrounding departments were alerted for a kitchen fire at 1425 Philadelphia Avenue, Penn Hall Manor Building. While initial crews were arriving, the address was corrected to 1427 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambers Pointe Nursing Center. Engine 1-1 and Assistant Chief 1 found an odor in the area of the kitchen but no smoke or fire. The box was downgraded as units continued to investigate. After extensive investigation, it was found that an employee burned food in a pan and discarded the pan prior to FD arrival. Crews cleared in around thirty minutes.
