Engine 1-2 and Tower 1 were sent to the 1000 block of Wayne Avenue for a fire alarm. Engine 1-2 arrived, meeting with hotel management, advising the location of the alarm. Tower 1, Ambulance 1-9 and Asst. Chief 1 relocated to that portion of the hotel and began to investigate. Crews accessed the second floor and found a haze throughout the hallway. Crews quickly located a plug for a heating unit that had caught fire. Tower 1 crews confirmed no extension and secured the power. Crews ventilated the building before going in service.
