The final day of our inaugural Mini Academy for our new hires was spent with hands-on work for the entire day. The 7 new hires, along with 7 current members participated in a Fire Control Refresher course through Buck County Community College for the first part of the day. After lunch the new hires were back at it, this time working on vertical ventilation skills and ground ladder work. As part were working on the roof prop familiarizing themselves with the departments chain saws, the other half conducted the Paxton Drill, working on proficiency in throwing ground ladders in a quick manner. Staff assisting in todays work were Chief Ulrich, Asst. Chief Myers, Tower Operators Anthony Chen and Zach Nehf, Engine Operator Jamie Birgfeld, and Firefighters Andre Conroy, Trever O'Donnell, Robert Lardieri, Thomas Whiteford, and Sam Miley.
With the completion of the HACC Fire Academy and the departments Mini Academy, all 7 new members will begin working on their perspective shifts.
