Auto Fire at 925 Norland Avenue
A late night call for an auto fire on Mt. Moriah Street sent "B" shift out the doors. While en route Deputy Chief 1 was advised that the police department was on scene with a fully involved van to the rear of the residence at the 300 block of East Washington Street. Engines 1-2 and 1-4 arrived and stretched the 400 ft line due to the placement of the vehicle. After quick extinguishment and mop up, crews cleared in around 25 minutes.
After clearing this call, "B" shift was dispatched for another auto fire at Giant Foods, 925 Norland Avenue. AC 1 arrived to find a working fire in the engine compartment. Engine 1-2 arrived, and crews were able to control the fire before it moved into the passenger compartment. Engine 1-2 remained for a short time till the arrival of CPD. |
