| Engine 1-2 and Tower 1 were alerted in the area of 150 Derbyshire Street for a fuel spill. Assistant Chief 1 arrived
on scene to find a large fuel spill mixing with rainwaters and running into a storm drain. Crews from Engine 1-2 and Tower 1 quickly began to contain the oil from the storm drains. Engine 1-1
was requested for additional supplies, and crews placed absorbent booms and pads for further containment. CFD cooperatively worked with Chambersburg Police, EMA, Public Works, and Storm Water,
plus Penn Dot and the Franklin Fire Co. Fire Police to secure and mitigate the scene. Units remained on scene for approximately two hours until an environmental cleanup crew took over. |
