34 Service Calls on One Shift
"C" Shift wrapped up a busy shift with a second fire in 24 hours. The first fire
came in shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday when crews were dispatched for smoke inside the residence at 258 West Queen Street. First arriving units found
fire under the porch extending into the exterior wall of the residence. Quick work brought the fire under control within minutes and crews were released
in less than 30 minutes.
Second fire of the shift was to 865 Lincoln Way West, Franklin Fire Department's first due, for a working building fire. Truck 1 with five personnel arrived directly behind Truck 42, and crews were sent to the roof for ventilation. Engine 1-2 with five personnel arrived and assisted with finishing the supply line lay and securing utilities. During the operation, Captain Wishard from Letterkenny Fire Department located the occupant's dog and brought it out to have medical attention. Firefighter Kelly Knepper and Firefighter Scott McNew assisted with administering oxygen and providing medical attention to the animal before releasing to staff for transportation to the vet. This fire was call number 34 for “C” Shift in a 24 hour period. |
