Company 1 units were alerted to 460 Guilford Avenue for a possible house fire. Units arrived to find a
single story residence with normal conditions. On entry, crews found a heavy smoke condition on the first floor. The origin of the fire was found in the basement; however, the
fire burnt out prior to arrival. Units were on scene for approximately one hour and 30 minutes.
It is important to keep your doors closed at night. This door, as you see in the pictures depicting both sides, contained the fire to the basement. This precaution grants precious
minutes in the event of a fire in your residence.
