Porch Fire at 164 Lincoln Way West
Around 4:00 p.m., a caller reported that smoke was coming from the rear of the residence at 164 Lincoln Way West.
Crews found a small fire to the rear of that residence that was quickly put out by tenants. Duty 1 arrived on scene and met with the caller who stated that the fire was on the porch to
the rear of his building at 164 Lincoln Way West. He led crews to a stairwell on the east side to the second floor porch. There a 4x4 support beam resting on cinderblock was charred as
well as the extended rubber roof. The fire was out; however, the odor remained. The area was checked with the TIC and nothing hot was found.
Third box of the weekend was to 267 East King Street for an oven fire. Engine 1-2 arrived to find the fire contained to the oven, and Deputy Chief 1 held it with Company 1. Engine 1-2 crew found a stove fire out on arrival, removed the microwave, opened an enclosed area above the microwave, and found no extension. |
