Shortly after 4 p.m., a box alarm sounded for a commercial building fire at Gish Logging in Metal Township Fire Department's first due. Within minutes,
Assistant Chief 21A arrived to find a working building fire and quickly upgraded the working fire dispatch to a second alarm. The second alarm brought
Truck 1 with six personnel to the scene. Upon arrival, the Truck 1 crew was requested to set up and protect the warehouse portion of the structure. The
Truck 1 crew was split and assigned as well to fire attack in a portion of the building where some storage was lighting off. During this operation,
Engine 1-2 was dispatched during the third alarm assignment and ended up supplying multiple units that were engaged in fire attack operations.
Units remained on scene for over seven hours. Though there was significant damage to a portion of the building, the large warehouse was saved.
